The PPSH-41 is a weapon in Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad.

The PPSH-41 is the sub machine gun of the Allied team, and available to the Assault, Elite Assault, Engineer, Squad Leader, and Commander class. Upon reaching veterancy, it becomes available to the Axis team, as well.
In theory, the PPSH has an exaggerated recoil. However, this is exacerbated by its very high rate of fire--the highest in the game, in fact. Until the drum mag is unlocked, the PPSH can burn through ammo extremely quickly, so firing in bursts past point-blank range is near-essential for maintaining effectiveness. At very close range, the PPSH is very deadly, and can kill targets near-instantly. At medium to long range, the PPSH suffers from controllability issues as well as low damage per bullet. Leveling up the PPSH greatly improves its long-range viability: not only does it benefit from the lower recoil, aiming down sight speed, and reload speed, it gains a 71 round drum mag for sustained fire, and at level 50 it can fire semi-auto, giving users the ability to temper its ferocious rate of fire. However, the high rate of fire can also be advantageous at long range, as a single tap of the trigger can easily fire off 3-4 shots, while still allowing for moderate accuracy out to approximately 75 meters.
